Melissa, a beautiful young woman, had gone to an office dinner that night. She was never too fond of these social events where people get together to talk about work and get drunk, so she left as soon as possible. She was walking home when she noticed this mysterious man watching her from the other side of the street. One would normally be scared, but not Melissa, not tonight.

Her footsteps echoed into the night and the dark figure was haunting her mind, leaving her restless, wondering who it was and why he was piercing her soul with his look. She was used to getting male attention, but that felt different and alluring to her.

She stops. Her big dark eyes focus on something not very distant from her. It was him again, disappearing into an alley’s darkness. Not thinking twice, she follows him. Maybe just out of curiosity, but she had no clue on what she was getting in. She walked slowly, always in the dark, trying not to be noticed, not that it would do her any good.

Melissa stops in front of a wall trying to figure out how he disappeared from her sight. She feels the cold breeze swimming around her, caressing her hair, her skin and, when she finally had decided to head home, a low voice brakes the silence of the wind. “What do you want?” asks the dark figure behind her. Melissa turns around and tries in vain to find his face in between so much darkness.
“Nothing…” she answers quite scared of her faceless speaker.
“Is it really nothing what you seek?” he asks her walking out of the shadow. The trembling light reveals his perfectly shaped Victorian features, which were to die for.
“I’m sorry, I don’t want any trouble. I just got a little out of my way.” she answers with a gasp.
He grabs her arm when she passes by him and pulls her, leaving their faces a few centimeters away, “You didn’t sound very convincing to me… I’ve seen you before. But why you are here is quite intriguing if I may say. Not many mortals would come to me on their will.”
Melissa laughs, “Mortals?” The thought of screaming for help didn’t cross her mind, she felt drawn to him.” Who are you? God?”
“If it’s God who you seek you shall not find Him with me.”
“This city is crowded with crazy people! I don’t even understand what you are saying!” she says, walking away.
“Melissa…”
Melissa stops as she hears her name in that low and somewhat seducing voice. “Who are you? How do you know my name?”
“I’m nothing but a demon hidden in the shadows of the night who can only glance at such beauty as yours.”
“I’m not afraid of demons. Are you a stalker or something?”
“My name is Louis. I don’t see myself as a stalker; I’m just someone who knows your soul. I saw your soul the moment I saw you walking down the road smiling at the world. Before that I could only imagine.” he answers trusting that she wouldn’t run away.
“Well… Louis… How do you know my name?” she persisted.
“I read your book about…”
“How the myth on vampires appeared?  I thought no one read that.” she says with a chuckle. “Tonight has been a strange night.” She looks at him “But I… ”
“Tell me Melissa, do you believe in vampires?” asks Louis, pushing her against the cold wall. He then puts his face close to hers and feels her sweet smell already knowing her answer. Melissa just stands there paralyzed. Louis has this dangerous and yet very attractive vibe and Melissa always believed deep in her heart that those beings existed. Maybe he was just crazy or wanted to have a laugh at her. Or maybe he really was a vampire and Melissa was going on the ride of her life.
Tonight as I was watching "Moonlight" I imagined how would an encounter with a vampire be to me. Deliciously dangerous and sensual
